In Action in Iceland. The Ruin Memories Team Explores Four Sites.

The Ruin Memories team gathered recently in Reykjavík, Iceland for an intensive two-day workshop.

After the memorable and tremendously successful event, the team took a field trip to explore four sites around Iceland. As the day unfolded two themes emerged through their engagement with the sites: The evidence of attraction (to ruined places and things); the attraction of evidence (that may disclose overlooked or obscured material histories). The first workshop in this projected was held in Santiago de Compostela, December 12-13, 2009. The workshop was hosted by Felipe Criado Boado and Alfredo González-Ruibal at the Heritage Laboratory, Spanish National Research Agency (LaPa-CSIC). In addition to the members of the project team scholars and students associated with the Heritage Laboratory took part in the workshop.
